Eurofoam consolidates operations in Germany

Eurofoam has decided to consolidate its business in Germany and to stop its foaming and converting operations at the Bexbach site by June 30th, 2012. The on-going stagnation of the German foam market for mattress and upholstery industry as well as the increasing pressure on margins made it necessary to adjust the overall production capacity and improve the cost base. Management will immediately consult with local workers council in Bexbach to discuss the effects and a social plan.
Eurofoam is currently operating at 5 sites in Germany and will continue to play a very active role on the German market. Existing business will be transferred within Germany but also within the Group outside of Germany to make use of synergies. The focus on specific products and markets of the remaining 4 sites in Germany will be further strengthened to improve competitiveness.
